Included strike plates:
For a inswinging door, the top strike would generally be a surface strike. If the casing is not flush with the door, the surface strike is cut into the casing. This may not seem elegant at first, but remember you want to hide the end of the top rod.
The alternate to a surface strike is an universal strike. This would be prefered if the casing is very thick. For a door with a wood threshold, the bottom strike would be a mortise strike. For a outswinging door, the top strike would be a angle strike mounted into the door stop. For an outswinging window with stops at the top and bottom, you would need an angle strike for the top and bottom. For an inswinging window, you may want any combination of surface strikes and mortise strikes. Remember, you are getting 4 strike plates with your order of which you will only use 2.
