Stainless steel storm sash adjuster serves 2 functions. Wood storm window is held open when stay bar is extended and notch is dropped into catch plate. To lock the storm window closed, swing the stay bar down and lock it in place over the provided nail. The sash adjuster can be disengaged from the catch when the window is fully open, allowing seasonal storage of the storm sash.
To install, catch should be mounted on jamb 3/32" away from storm window 12" above the sill. The stay arm is mounted at the same height on the storm sash so the stay arm can easily slide through the catch. Close the window, swing the stay arm straight down, and drive the provided nail into the center of the oval hole leaving about 1/2" of the nail protruding from the jamb.
Overall measurement of adjuster is 10-1/2".
Stay arm is fashioned from approximately 7/16" x 1/16" material.
Mounting plates are 1-5/8" tall.
Catch plates are 1-1/2" tall.
