Old Fashioned friction style sash lock. Installed on the sides of the sash to hold the window in position & lock it. Useful for windows without counterbalances.

A 180 degree turn of the lever extends the foot approximately 1/8 of an inch. Shown in the locked position and the unlocked position.

Overall height 2-5/8". Overall width 1-1/4". Projection 3/8".

Center to Center screw measurement 1-3/8".

Provided with 1" long screws.

See below for price breaks.

Installation Steps:

  1. Determine Placement:

    • Place the lock on the edge of the side stile of the sash (the edge of the movable part of the window).

    • The lever should face the window pane, while the foot faces the window jamb (the vertical frame beside the sash).

    • When engaged, the foot extends toward the jamb to hold the window open—so the lock must be positioned so the foot can press directly into the jamb.

    2. Mark the Screw Holes:

    • Hold the lock in the desired position.

    • Mark the two mounting holes.

    • Hole spacing is 1-3/8" center to center.

    3. Drill Pilot Holes (Recommended):

    • Use a 1/16" drill bit to drill pilot holes at the marked positions.

    4. Attach the Lock:

    • Secure the lock to the sash using the included 1" screws.

    • Ensure the lock sits flat and the lever can turn smoothly without obstruction.

    5. Test the Lock:

    • Open the window sash to the desired height.

    • Rotate the lever 180°—the foot should extend and press against the jamb, holding the sash in place.

    • Rotate the lever back to retract the foot and close the window.

Any trick to make it work?

    RL

Window just slides down. No friction applied when deployed. ** Response from store: They have to be sufficiently close to the window to work. They do not move all that much. **
