    I only bought plaster washers. But I found a lot of other interesting things there for old houses. Things you won't find at Lowe's or Home Depot or your local hardware store.

    I had placed my order Nov. 27 and requested next-day-air delivery. At 4:10PM Nov. 29 the store called my answering machine and said that my order would arrive Mon. or Tues., whether sent by standard mail or by next-day. I was charged the more expensive fee without benefit of any faster service. The web site order form information was insufficient and did not explain the fee structure at all. I never would have chosen next-day-air fees to pay for shipping a part if I had known the part would not have gotten here faster than standard mail. It just is not good business practice on the suppliers part to: (1)inadequately inform the customer originally of the fee structure, and (2)fail to be proactive and make an adjustment in shipping method, if in so doing it will save his customer money.

    I am currently renovating a circa 1900's farm house. all the walls and ceilings are plaster over lathe. I had heard of a technique for resecuring the loose plaster to the lathe in wich you screw in a button over the loose area. the problem was no one could get the buttons, even worse they did not know what they were. After hours of searching the web. I finally found them at kilian's hardware. They shipped them right out. In this modern age, it is great to have a blast from the past like kilians.
