What Else Do I Need To Install Pro-Type Weatherstrip?

To install Pro-Type weatherstrip, you will need nails, and you may also need lock strip. Our 17' long spring bronze kits include 7/8" long copper plated steel nails and a 6" piece of lock strip.

Lock strip is used on a door next to the lock, where the pro-type weatherstrip will not fit. Lock strip is sold separately on this page.

We recommend nailing your pro-type weatherstrip every 1-1/2" to 2". This means that you will need 6-8 nails for every foot of weatherstrip. We offer solid bronze nails and copper plated steel nails. Solid bronze nails are recommended in coastal environments to prevent rust. In other environments, copper plated steel nails are sufficient. We offer 3/4" copper plated steel nails, 7/8" copper plated steel nails, 3/4" solid bronze nails, and 1" solid bronze nails. The length of nail you use depends on your preference. In most cases, 3/4" nails are sufficient, and the 3/4" length is most commonly used.
