After searching all the big boxes, local hardware stores, and several internet sites we found just the item we needed to mount removable storm windows at Kilian Hardward. Not only did we find the item, but there were several to choose from. One call to the store and helpful advice from the sale staff and we are now ready to build and install our storm windows. We've owned old (80 ) year old houses for 35 years. Kilian's has always been the go to for the hardware and supplies for them that you just can't find at Ace or certainly not the big box stores. Their spring bronze weatherstripping is the best for double hung sashes. With that, good glazing and a good storm window, old windows are as good as just about any replacement window. They also take suggestions or products. Recently on an order I mentioned Sarco glazing compound and whiting powder as the 80 year solution to glazing wood windows. Within a day they were carrying it and emailed back a thanks. Very cool. Pros in every regard.
